Who We Are
War Eagles Air Museum was founded by John and Betty MacGuire in 1989 as a way to share their love of aviation and history with the community. More than 30 years later, the museum features one of the Southwest’s largest collections of beautifully restored historic aircraft from the World War II to Vietnam Conflict eras, along with a large collection of vintage and historic automobiles, motorcycles, and various military and transportation artifacts through the decades. The museum’s vast hangar space has also served as a location for several educational and social events, from school tours to weddings. The collection continues to evolve and grow as the museum’s staff and volunteers strive to help new generations discover the significance of these amazing machines, from their craftmanship to their place in American and world history.
What We Do
The museum archives focus on gathering and preserving documents of enduring and significant research importance, no matter their format. The range of materials a museum archive aims to collect should be explicitly defined in the main institution's comprehensive collections statement or kept distinct by the archives department. The items included in the archives' collection focus should enhance the museum's collection and exhibition activities and demonstrate a dedication to diversity and inclusion.
